Technology titans including Yahoo, Apple, and Microsoft won acclaim for consistently calling for reforms to U.S. surveillance after the Snowden revelations. Through joint public campaigns, the companies demanded limits on domestic and foreign surveillance by the federal government. The USA Freedom Act, one of the reform bills supported by the companies, became law in mid-2015.
