OpenAI Sued for ChatGPT Farming Personal Information

OpenAI got hit with an expensive class action lawsuit in 2023 for violating privacy rights by scraping the internet for massive amounts of personal information without notice and without permission in order to train its ChatGPT A.I. products. The company has angered consumers, leading to a public outcry, calls for new regulation, and causing members of Congress to express concern for “AI that is left unchecked and unregulated.”
